Reader: (How KPIs turn big objectives into daily progress) “Don’t Just Set Goals — Track Them” W. Edwards Deming once said, “You can’t improve what you don’t measure.” As we enter the final four months of 2025, that principle matters more than ever. Reviewing your performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) keeps you on track to meet — or even exceed — your goals. Here’s where our Morning Minutes stand today: · 747,307 emails sent — Goal: 1,000,000 · 248,903 emails opened (33.3%) — KPI: 33% · 47,707 click-throughs (19%) — KPI: 12% · 1,504 unsubscribes (0.6%) — KPI: <1% Because we track these KPIs, we know exactly how we’re performing. With four months left, we’re on pace to beat our email goal by more than 100K — and by holding steady on opens, clicks, and unsubscribes, we’ll also exceed our revenue targets. Every organization sets monetary goals — sales, gross profit, expenses, and net profit. But the most successful organizations also set KPIs: the activities that when performed properly by the right people create those results. Consistently performing those right activities is what produces your long-term success.
