Reader: 4 daily actions that turn small success into meaningful achievements! Morning Minute 10.23.26 How Do You Measure Success? Four daily actions that turn small successes into meaningful achievements. Ask ten people how they measure success, and you'll probably hear ten different answers. Some will mention money, promotions, education, or professional recognition. Others may describe owning a home, raising a family, or building a business. But notice something. Most people describe their goals rather than explaining how they measure success. There's an important distinction. Goals identify what we want to achieve. Success is measured by the meaningful progress we make toward achieving those goals. Now, consider this question: If your goal takes five years to achieve, does that mean you must wait five years to become successful? Of course not! Along the way, you'll need to develop skills, solve problems, accept responsibility, overcome setbacks, and produce results. Each meaningful accomplishment represents another step toward your goal. Those are successes—even before you reach your destination. So, how can we create, measure, and build upon those daily successes? Here's a simple four-step process you can begin tonight. 1. PLAN. Each afternoon or evening, thoughtfully examine your goals. Write down the specific actions you intend to accomplish tomorrow. Include your appointments, contacts, meetings, and tasks. Prioritize those that contribute most to achieving your larger goals. 2. ACCOMPLISH. Execute your daily plan. As you complete each task, physically draw a 3. REVIEW. At day's end, examine your performance. Which accomplishments moved you closer to your goal? What remains unfinished? What worked? What didn't? What should you do differently tomorrow? Remember, being busy isn't the same as being successful. Measure your success by meaningful accomplishments, not simply the number of activities completed. 4. REPEAT. Use what you've learned to prepare tomorrow's plan. Build upon your successes, learn from your setbacks, and continue moving toward your goals. Plan. Accomplish. Review. Repeat. Four simple actions that help transform daily efforts into measurable success. And when you finally achieve your goal? Celebrate! Review the successes and lessons that made it possible. Then decide what meaningful goal you'll pursue next. Here's your challenge. Tonight, identify one important goal. Write down three specific actions you can accomplish tomorrow that will move you closer to achieving it. Then begin. Goals can be achieved. But success is never final.
