Morning Minute 10.31.25

“Train Yourself…to Blame Yourself!”

Your football team just suffered two terrible calls from the officials. One took a touchdown away. The other gave the opponent one they didn’t earn.

Now it’s halftime. You’re the coach. Your team is down by 14 points — not because they quit, but because things went against them.

Here’s the question: How do you respond?

Do you spend halftime complaining about the refs? Or, do you focus on what you can still control?

That’s where true leadership shows up — in how you respond to adversity.

Here’s what a winning coach does:

A losing coach blames the officials. A winning coach owns the response.

Because when you focus on what you can’t control, you give your team permission to make excuses. However, when you focus on what you can control, you give them the power to win.

The same is true in business:
When a new hire doesn’t work out…
When a promotion fails to produce results…
When your team misses its goal…

Ask yourself: As the leader, what can I do better?

That’s what it means to train yourself to blame yourself. When you accept responsibility, instead of making excuses, you empower yourself, and your team, to overcome adversity and create consistent winning.

Morning Minute Challenge:
Think of a recent setback your team faced. What part of it was truly out of your control, and what could you have done differently to prepare or adapt? How will you turn future problems into opportunities to train, to grow, and to winconsistently?

“Train Yourself…to Blame Yourself!”
That’s today’s Morning Minute.

It is past time for Senate democrats to end this foolish, ill-advised, and destructive government shutdown. As of this morning the the Senate has voted 13 times to reopen the government. There were only 54 votes in favor with a requirement of 60 'yes" votes needed to reopen the government. Only 3 democrats voted for this resolution. By not voting to reopen government, democrats are holding military families, federal civilian employees, including air traffic controllers, court employees, the federal police, ICE, and the US Marshalls hostage so they can gain some "leverage"(their term, not mine) to correct the problem Democrats created when they passed Obama Care, the so-called "Affordable Care Act." Their stalling and refusal to reopen the government is putting the millions who depend on SNAP benefits for food at risk. Even the unions who represent federal workers have called on democrats to reopen the government.

And, all this is absolutely UNNECESSARY!

Flood democrat senators with calls and messages and tell them in no uncertain terms to open this government now! And, next year at the 2026 election, remember which party it was who caused all this hardship for Americans, especially those who can least afford to go without their paychecks and their SNAP benefits.
