Reader: Training & empowering the right people multiplies your impact creating superior results! Morning Minute – 12.2.25 “Build Stronger Teams by Building Stronger Leaders!” Unless you are a micro-manager, leading your team means engaging the talents of others to multiply your efforts and create stronger, more consistent results. Here are a few examples: If you’re the head coach of a football team with strengths in recruiting, motivating, and organizing players and coaches, you still need both offensive and defensive coordinators. Their leadership determines how players perform before, during, and after every game. If you’re a government executive skilled in organization, systems, and legislative success, you still need a strong media director to manage messaging, press relations, and communication strategy. If you run a business with multiple departments or locations, you need competent, trustworthy leaders who can manage their teams and drive results. Here are five steps to ensure you build the kind of leadership team that multiplies success: 1. Identify the skills and track record required for each key leadership role. Make sure you know exactly what success in that position should look like. 2. Look within your current team for people with the aptitude and ability to lead. Promoting from within shows others that there is a clear path for advancement. 3. If no internal talent is ready, hire externally. Look for someone whose values, skills, and leadership style align with your team’s culture and goals. 4. Give clear direction—including methods, values, expectations, and measurable results. 5. Monitor progress and outcomes. They may not accomplish tasks the way you would. As long as they produce the results you expect while honoring the team’s values, you’ve successfully multiplied your impact. Morning Minute Challenge: Identify one area or department in your organization that is not performing to standard. Commit to training, transferring, or replacing the current leader to give that team a chance to succeed. Then monitor the results to ensure the right leader is leading the right team. “Build Stronger Teams by Building Stronger Leaders!
