Reader: “Be HUMBLE to TRANSFORM Your LIFE!” Humility, defined as “a modest or low view of one’s own importance,” is often misunderstood as weakness. In truth, humility is a strength that shapes our character, strengthens our relationships, and fosters success in our careers. To be humble, meaning “to lower oneself in dignity and importance,” is not about self-degradation, but about recognizing that we are not the center of the universe. When we embrace humility, we honor both God and ourselves by serving others selflessly. In our personal lives, humility positively impacts our relationships by fostering genuine connections. When we practice devotion to helping others, we shift our focus from ourselves to those around us, cultivating deeper, more meaningful relationships. Delighting in other’s success allows us to celebrate others without jealousy. That creates an environment of support rather than competition. Distancing ourselves from our own pride and the need for self-importance, ensures that we approach relationships with sincerity, free from arrogance or entitlement. Humility teaches us that relationships are not about dominance, but service, love, and mutual respect. In our careers, humility is a critical trait of servant leadership and professional growth. Humble professionals value teamwork over personal glory. They learn from both successes and failures. Determining to obey God no matter the consequences, keeps us grounded in ethical decision-making, even when the world tempts us otherwise. Leaders with humility gain the trust and respect of their teams. They create a work-place culture that prioritizes service over self-interest. Moreover, when we direct our attention on the goodness of God instead of our own weaknesses, we replace self-doubt with confidence in His strength. He empowers us to pursue our mission with both faith and determination. Spiritually, humility aligns us with God’s purpose. Dependence on God, reminds us that we are not self-sufficient but reliant on His wisdom and grace. When we practice death to self-centeredness and self-importance, we surrender our ego, allowing God to work through us. Serving others with humility is not an act of self-neglect but one of honor, both to God and to ourselves. Jesus himself exemplified humility, serving others without seeking status. By washing the feet of His disciples at the Last Supper, and dying on the cross for our sins, Jesus taught us that the path to greatness is through servanthood, not self-promotion. When we live humbly, we enrich our lives, strengthen our careers, and build lasting, meaningful relationships with others. By placing service above self-interest, we mirror the character of God, uplift those around us, and discover the true fulfillment that comes from humility. In honoring others, we honor both God and ourselves, And, we demonstrate that a life rooted in humility is a life truly worth living! “Be HUMBLE to TRANSFORM Your LIFE!” That is today’s Morning Minute.
