Reader: (What happens when service, not status, drives you life?) “Purpose vs. Prestige: What Drives You?” Years ago, while managing a dealership in the Carolinas, one of our techs forgot to put oil in a customer’s engine. The result: a blown engine—and a very upset customer. I made the decision to replace the engine. Without pay, the tech and I worked all night to finish the job. The customer appreciated that we owned the mistake—and the solution. The tech, and our entire team, learned a lasting lesson in personal accountability. But more than that, we reinforced a shared sense of purpose—to serve others. Years later, driven by the desire to claim the prestige of being a “dealer,” I invested in a failing store in a poor location. I let ego take the wheel. It cost me—deeply. So I ask you: What drives you? Each of us has the chance to choose our purpose. That choice becomes our calling. Wealth, recognition, and influence aren’t bad on their own—we all want to be seen and respected. But ask yourself: Tim Tebow, a Heisman Trophy winner and NFL quarterback, could have rested in prestige. Instead, he made it his purpose to rescue trafficked children. He now leads a global effort to find and free victims of abuse and exploitation. Bob Buford, in his book Halftime, said many people spend the first half of life focused on making a living. In the second half, they shift to making a difference. Pedro Adao of 100X teaches that gaining wealth, power, and influence in pursuit of your purpose is a worthy mission. Why? Because the more you have, the more people you can serve. ✅ MORNING MINUTE CHALLENGE: In your pursuit to be more, do more, and earn more, how will you use your wealth, power, and influence to help others? Reader: 🕒 Morning Minute – 6.17.25 “There Are No Mistakes… Only Lessons!” We’ve all heard it: “There are no mistakes, only lessons.” But is that really true? Of course we all make mistakes. If I teach a process incorrectly, that’s a mistake of commission. If I miss a deadline, that’s a mistake of omission. So why say there are “no mistakes”?
