Morning Minute – 3.13.26

Accept. Analyze. Adapt.

(Sometimes life gives you a moment to practice all three.)

Cold water… straight to the chest at 6:30 this morning.

That’s how our walk with Gigi, our 8-year-old Schnauzer, began today.

A sprinkler suddenly blasted me as we passed a yard. I was startled—and instantly soaked.

For a moment I had a decision to make:
Go inside and change…
or simply keep walking.

That small moment reminded me how often life throws unexpected events our way.

Right now, we are experiencing several. A war influencing energy prices and inflation. A volatile stock market. And a government shutdown affecting income, travel, and everyday plans.

So how should we respond when things happen that we cannot control?

Here is a simple approach.

ACCEPT that some events are outside our control.

We cannot control wars, weather, or market swings.

We can complain about them—or learn from them. Our response often says more about us than the event itself.

ANALYZE what happened.
Ask the key questions:
What happened?
Who was affected?
Why did it occur?
When and where did it happen?
And how should we respond?

Understanding the situation helps reduce our risks. And, reveals our opportunities.

ADAPT so you are prepared next time.

Focus on the 4 Ps:
Prepare your People through training and organization.
Refine your Processes to anticipate changes and opportunities.
Adjust your Products to meet evolving demand and innovation.
And align your Promotions to reach customers where they live, work, and travel.

Remember this:

Accept what you cannot control.
Analyze what you can learn.
Adapt so you are ready for what comes next.

It’s not about what happens. It’s about how you respond to what happens.

And this morning… knowing the wind would eventually dry me out, Gigi and I simply kept walking—wet shirt and all.

Sometimes the best response to the unexpected is simply to keep moving forward.

Accept. Analyze. Adapt.

That is today’s Morning Minute.
