Reader: Your guide to creating strong families through love, devotion, & consistent action! Morning Minute 9.30.25 “Family – Building Your Most Important Team!” Strong families begin with parents who love and are devoted to God, each other, and their children. They embrace their shared responsibility as their children’s first and most important teachers. They lead by example staying consistent in both words and actions. Let’s look at some key characteristics of Godly parents: These parents lovingly listen to each other and to their children. By listening, they encourage open dialogue about matters both large and small. Active listening meets children where they are at any age, making them feel valued and respected. And as children grow older, don’t avoid the “hard” questions. They will learn more from you than from any other teacher. Tonight, ask your child one open-ended question and simply listen—without interrupting. Through their words and example, Godly parents set boundaries for acceptable behavior, explaining why those boundaries matter. They teach good manners, healthy habits, and personal responsibility. They model how to accept both praise and criticism. They guide children in how to win and lose with grace—and how to learn from each. Review one rule with your child, discuss why it matters, then ask how they can help follow it. Godly parents also demonstrate honesty, forgiveness, and personal discipline: doing what is right even when it’s difficult, and resisting what is wrong even when it’s tempting. When punishment is necessary, they correct their children not in anger but to teach accountability and the consequences of poor choices. Ask your child whom they will forgive today, & discuss why. To give children a financial head start, Godly parents teach wise money management, how much to save, how much to give, and how much to spend. Most importantly, they model these principles in their own lives. They also share their financial mistakes and struggles, encouraging their children to make better decisions. Involve your child in a small money decision—help them choose how to save, give, or spend. Most importantly, Godly parents read the Bible with their children—both at home and in church. They discuss how the stories and principles of Scripture lead to healthier, more fulfilling lives. Pick a Bible story, read it aloud with your child, & discuss one lesson they can learn from it. Finally, no matter the circumstances, let your children know that you love them and pray for them daily. And invite them to do the same for you. Tonight, say a short prayer together as a family before bed. “Family – Building Your Most Important Team!” That is today’s Morning Minute. *** *** *** If a family member, coworker, or someone you know may find this message helpful, interesting, and/or informative, please share it with them.
