Morning Minute 10.17.25
“The Pursuit of Power, Wealth, & Influence?”
Most of us were taught that people enter politics to serve others — to help the poor, the struggling, or the forgotten. Yet, when we observe how many politicians behave once in office, those noble explanations often fall short.

In a free economy, individuals can try, fail, and try again — each time learning, growing, and creating new opportunities. But that same freedom is threatened by those who seek political office not to serve, but to control. Their motives often revolve around three pursuits: power, wealth, and influence.

Power gives them authority to control the lives of others without bearing the real consequences of failure. In business, failure brings loss. In politics, failure often brings excuses. Remember: Power corrupts — and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Wealth follows power. Insider information, campaign contributions, and lobbyist favors too often turn “public service” into private gain. It’s no surprise that some leave office far richer than when they entered.

Influence is the quiet currency that shapes every decision — in business, the economy, education, even culture. Influence is power without accountability, and that’s why so many pursue it so passionately.

Then there are those rare leaders who already possess power, wealth, and influence — and use them to fix what’s broken, not to profit from it. They don’t just pass more laws; they solve problems. Politicians legislate. Leaders lead.

Morning Minute Challenge:
Before casting your next vote, ask yourself:
1️⃣ Is this person motivated by power, wealth, or influence?
2️⃣ Or do they already have these things — and want to use them to actually solve problems?

“The Pursuit of Power, Wealth, & Influence?”

That’s today’s Morning Minute.
